Without you, they won’t know Christmas!
Christmas, the time of year when families and friends get together to share gifts, food and time with each other. However not everyone is able to share in these festivities, in fact, many families and children never get to experience the joy of this giving season.
Let us, as a community, come together and make a difference in the lives of others, with no expectation of getting anything back in return except for the knowledge that you gave joy to someone who could do nothing in return for you.
This is the true spirit of Christmas, the season of giving.
See Upper Highway proudly supports Shap Shap Cinemas, a forward-thinking Non-Profit Company that was created to address the educational needs of rural communities across South Africa.
This year Shap Shap Cinemas are looking for donations of Santa Boxes for 6 creches and 2 Gogo groups.
That equates to 180 children, 63 Gogo’s (and Mkhulu’s), 7 young teachers and 6 older Gogo teachers.
So what does a Santa box include?
Facecloth and soap
Toothbrush and Toothpaste
A Book, magazine or toy
Sweets/biscuits or chocolate
Socks/hat
Stationery – a colouring book and crayons, pencil crayons
For the Gogo’s and Mkhulu’s, you can include items that are age-appropriate like a handkerchief, scarf, comb, beaded necklace, perfume, etc.
The cost of a Santa Box is approximately R120, and we ask that you don’t exceed this too much as some boxes end up being more elaborate than others and this is not really fair on the other children. If you would prefer for Shap Shap Cinemas to create the box on your behalf you can use the Zapper Code or banking details below, please use the Childs/Gogo’s Name as a reference when making donations for the Santa Box.
Shap Shap Cinemas will also be throwing a small Christmas Party for the children and for this they need donations of chips, sweets, cooldrinks, cake and face paint.
There is also the annual EsiBusisweni Christmas Party, donations of food are required for approximately 80 people.
Any contribution or donation towards these festive projects will be most appreciated.
