A Dose of Debbie

My classes are a mixture of pilates and stretch to build core strength, enhance balance and improve flexibility for all ages and abilities. Each class focuses on mind and body relaxation and release, which I have found to be extremely effective.

I focus on breathing, encouragement and motivation to ensure that each person builds confidence and stamina, learns to listen to their bodies and encourages them to challenge themselves to achieve more.

I use the senses a lot during the class as this helps with the release of tension and true understanding of our core and muscles.

We use mats, resistance bands and lightweight balls to create interest and diversity during the exercises. No class is ever exactly the same as this stimulates the mind and keeps the muscles working and activated. Lean muscle and healthy strong bodies are what we want to achieve.

In February 2020 I completed a Rebound instructors training course with Reboundsa and Lisa Raleigh. I am in the process of completing my final assignment and practical assessments. Rebounding is not only one of the most fun and enjoyable ways to get fit, lose weight and tone up. It also boosts your Lymphatic and immune systems. Your energy levels, overall health and happiness will improve dramatically. Rebounding strengthens and rejuvenates every cell in your body.

This is a non-impact form of resistance training, as you are landing on the trampoline mat. This makes it possible to exercise the whole body without causing any undue stress to any part.

In March I challenged my clients to a 30 Day Plank Challenge which they took on with great courage and determination! By the end of the month, everyone was planking for 2 minutes or longer and I received photos of planks happening in the workplace, on the beach, in the park, you name it … everyone was passionate about planking! I was delighted with the results and great fun was had during this challenge.

I encourage everyone to drink water during and after the classes because of the great detox the body gets. I share nutrition and health tips on my Whats App groups and social media platforms to keep my clients motivated and excited about being healthy and well.
