10 Things you didn’t know about Décor-Art Interiors

The owner of Décor-Art, Angela Scholey, started the initiative called The Angiepeni Foundation in Borneo, whereby they have enlisted the local farmers to plant Teak trees on their land, the project is also overseen by the local government which ensures that the trees are taken care of and no tree is cut down before they are least 10 years old, these Teak trees are grown solely for manufacturing furniture. This way they can ensure that the local forests are not touched and are preserved, and the local farmers can generate an income. This initiative was formed to save the rainforests from being destroyed as the wildlife are under threat with some species on the endangered list and it is all because of illegal logging and this project hopes to shed light on this matter and to relieve the issues.

Décor-Art first opened their doors on the 21st of January 2001, they were in their first premises for six and a half years and then spent 7 years at 25 Highlands road before relocating to their very own venue near Kearsney College, the new venue address is 1 Warwickshire Crescent on the corner of Old Main Road, Bothas Hill.

Angie is also involved in the conservation of their local forests by ensuring the farmers are planting and taking care of the Teak Trees which are given to the farmers free of charge by the AngiePeni Foundation.
